Travis Glynn: Muscatine's Trusted General Contractor
Houck's Construction LLC is Muscatine's dependable general contractor and home improvement contractor for remodeling and deck projects. We treat every homeowner like a neighbor, not just a client.
How Houck's Construction Got Its Start in Muscatine
Travis Glynn founded Houck's Construction, LLC in Muscatine, IA with one goal in mind: deliver dependable home improvement services that homeowners could actually count on. He had seen too many projects stall out on broken promises and poor communication, and he wanted to build something different. He built the business on a simple promise: show up, do the work right, and treat every homeowner like a neighbor, the kind of care you'd expect from a friend down the street.
What started as a general contractor taking on local repair and construction work has grown into one of the more trusted names in home renovation and landscape work throughout Muscatine and the surrounding areas. Travis and his crew have kept the same approach from day one: listen first, communicate clearly, and never cut corners.
Today, Houck's Construction serves homeowners in Bettendorf, Davenport, Iowa City, Wilton, West Liberty, Moline, East Moline, and Rock Island in addition to Muscatine. The service area has grown, but the hands-on, neighbor-first approach hasn't changed.
Show up, do the work right, and treat every homeowner like a neighbor.
The Values That Guide Every Remodeling and Deck Project
Every kitchen remodel, bathroom renovation, deck installation, or outdoor living project we take on gets built on the same foundation. These values show up in how we plan, how we communicate, and how we finish each job.
- TrustWe earn it by following through on what we say we'll do, project after project.
- Clear communicationYou'll know what's happening, what's next, and what to expect before, during, and after the work.
- TransparencyHonest pricing and honest timelines, with no surprises buried in the fine print.
- Quality workmanshipFrom basement finishing to siding replacement, we build things to last, not just to look good on move-in day.
- A hands-on approachTravis and the crew are on site, not just managing from a distance.
- Respect for your homeWe treat your property like it's our own, cleaning up and protecting what matters while we work.
What Sets Houck's Construction Apart
Plenty of contractors can swing a hammer. Fewer stick around long enough to build the kind of reputation Houck's Construction has earned across Muscatine and the Quad Cities. Here's what homeowners tell us makes the difference.
We Don't Cut Corners
Whether we're framing a basement remodel or staining a new wood deck, we take the time to do each step correctly the first time. Shortcuts cost homeowners money later, and we'd rather build it right now.

We Handle Remodeling and Outdoor Projects Under One Roof

I recently hired this company to completely redeck our primary deck and handle some structural repairs, including replacing several rotted support posts. They did an absolutely great job. The crew was extremely knowledgeable, ensured all the structural work was strictly up to code, and responded quickly throughout the whole process. Highly recommend them if you want quality, reliable work at a reasonable price!

Houck's Construction was great! I needed soffit repairs and new siding on a chimney box on my house. They were able to meet at a great time and the work was done very well and the material was solid quality. Prices were very fair and work was done promptly when materials arrived. I would use them again for any work I need done.
